During Winter 2025, our restaurant, Sierra Mar, will be closed for renovations. The good news, however, is that almost all other aspects of a stay at Post Ranch are open and available to enjoy, including our spa, the Meditation and Lap pools, and curated activities, which continue as usual. Additionally, we’ve done a number of things designed to make your dining experience here as wonderful as ever.
First, we’re thrilled to introduce Mickey’s, a pop-up bistro-style dining space with a special land and sea menu that our chefs are super excited about. Second, we’ve upped our in-room dining game, making romantic dinners in the privacy of your room a truly elegant experience.
Still on the fence? Well, during this time, you can take advantage of our Getaway Rates, offering 20% off our normal room rates plus a daily dining credit of $250 each night of your stay that can be used for food at Mickey’s, In-Room Dining or Poolside Dining.

We’re excited to introduce Mickey’s, an intimate, bistro-style setting designed to capture the warmth of Big Sur. Named in honor of Mickey Muennig, Post Ranch Inn’s original architect, Mickey’s is open daily for lunch and dinner. Lunch is open to the general public, while Dinner is available exclusively for hotel guests. Additionally, we’ve elevated our in-room dining offerings to provide an intimate, more elegant experience. About Mickey Muennig
Architectural visionary, G.K. (Mickey) Muennig, came to the California coast from Joplin, Missouri in 1971 after studying at the University of Oklahoma with Bruce Goff, and working with various architects, mostly Goff and Frank Lloyd Wright disciples, in Joplin and Denver, Colorado. It is this creative mind that romped, sketched and rocked this ridge to give us the Post Ranch Inn design. As a tribute to Mickey, we’ve named our new dining experience in his honor.

What are the dates of the restaurant closure?
The closure is currently slated to run through March 25. Sierra Mar is expected to re-open for dinner service on March 26.
Will anything else be closed or unavailable during this time?
Almost all other outlets, services, amenities and activities will be available. That includes the Spa, the Meditation and Lap pools, the Mercantile and all activities. Other than Sierra Mar, the Jade Pool and the Post Gallery (which will be used for dining) are the only other outlets and amenities that will be closed during this team.
How do we make a dining reservation at Mickey's?
Dining can be reserved on a first come, first served basis, provided the space is available. However, we are unable to guarantee a table for every guest on property. Please contact our Reservations team to make a reservation at +1 (800) 527-2200 or

Will the full cocktail menu and wine list be available?
A robust cocktail menu and wine list will be available, but both will be more limited than our typical menus due to the intimate nature of the dining room at Mickey’s.
Will Mickey's and In-Room Dining menus cater to dietary restrictions?
Absolutely! We are very sensitive to the dietary needs of all of our guests and can accommodate most dietary preferences and restrictions. Simply let us know in advance so that we can better serve you.
